Beatrice .b FW24|25 “ISLAND” collection is inspired by the works of the contemporary Belgian artist Ruth van Beek, whose works tell of the desire to trigger the imagination through the sophisticated alteration of images, while maintaining their identity. The works from which the collection draws its creative intuition are archival photographic re-workings that are manipulated and extrapolated from their original context: the inanimate objects on printed paper come to life through a mix of images, folds and the use of strong accents of colour.

Therefore, the concept of transformation of the classic is at the foundation of the collection: it plays on hyper-femininity and mature femininity that is decontextualized and rethought. The strength of the brand and of the collection is, in fact, given by the mix of garments that are combined together, where each look transforms the timeless classics that are uprooted from their native context.

The common thread of the collection is the study of meaning through the re-working of fabrics and details that outline the importance of a coherent and precise image. The Beatrice .b garments are in fact transformed in the processing techniques of the fabric: the pleats are lasered with studied designs while sail rings create a clearly visible play of solid and void. The processing of the fabrics therefore creates three-dimensionality, transforming the garments into something different, as in the printed and solid-coloured garments with manual pleating which recall the work of Ruth van Beek.

Another important intent is the use of colour in which the chromatic proportions become recognizable in a union between heritage colours and strong accents. The timeless colours par excellence -such as black and white- and the leisure ones -such as camel and grey- are enhanced by points of yellow and red. The burgundy theme is softened and made contemporary by pink and optical white. White and sage green are mixed with accents of bright green and powder blue.

The manipulation of materials that we observe in Ruth van Beek is present in all product categories. In the outerwear, the classic double fabric is combined with the quilt in bold cuts. An important concept in the knitwear is the use of needlework, as a manual processing technique, in order to mix and blend contrasting colours. Lastly, photographic prints on pleats or abstract ones become distorted on chiné fabrics and refined constructions.

The continuous attention paid to sustainability finds real expression through the research for fine fabrics and materials, such as cashmere and regenerated wool, duvets in technical fabric that 100% derived from organic material and eco-sustainable prints. Beatrice .b pays particular attention to the production chain which becomes "locally made", involving partner companies that are located in a radius area of 5 km.

Each garment has meanings to be discovered that go beyond the visible ones. The prevalence of heritage becomes contemporary with details and combinations, proved by the care taken in the creation of the new labelling, the use of fabrics, the cuts and construction of the garments and, as a strength point, the proportions in the use of colour that recognizes Beatrice .b.
The aesthetics of the collection is not loud but conceptual, a minimal one that is enriched by strong colour sequences and contrasting elements.
