SUSTAINABILITY
"Season after season, we are making continuous progress in our mission to make our company and products more sustainable, and we believe it’s only right to share our commitment with you—to speak openly about how much we care for the planet, our team, and our industry. Nature has an incredible ability to give, and it is our moral duty to nurture it by striving to protect its gifts. We work hard to improve constantly because each of us can make a difference." B.
Our passion for the quality of Made in Italy and the pursuit of a contemporary aesthetic are fused with a steadfast commitment to sustainable production and environmental protection. We aim to further develop this approach through the study and analysis of the 3Ps - People, Product, and Planet - ensuring they remain the driving forces behind our unique and responsible collections.
Proud and aware of the goals achieved for the planet and the community, for us, this is not a destination, but a starting point to pursue increasingly responsible corporate ethics.
PEOPLE
The value of a company is the value of the people inside it. Attention to this fundamental component invites us to always pursue new objectives, strengthening a sense of corporate belonging as a single team, aimed at common uplifting objectives, promoting equal growth opportunities in work teams. Protecting the company's heritage and developing continuity programs for the sector's craftsmanship is also one of our most important goals.
PRODUCT
Attention to product and quality have always been the beating heart of Beatrice .b. For about 5 years, we have extended this propensity for research also towards sustainable innovation, showing a growing percentage of sustainable items within our collections. The group of sustainable products includes: Animal Friendly, Recycled Fibres, Organic Fibres, Sustainable Prints and Locally Made Materials.
PLANET
We protect biodiversity and adopt positive strategies for nature and the future by reducing our footprint in all our direct activities and in our supply chain. Innovation in the research of materials, integration of production processes with low environmental impact, reduction of CO2 emissions, implementing circular economy projects and incentives for responsible habits are the corporate focuses that materialize our ethical vision to protect the planet.
THE VICINITY COUNT
One of the highest CO2-emitting phases in fashion is the frequent travel during manufacturing. To counter this, we minimize travel by collaborating with companies near our headquarters. We have achieved zero CO2 emissions in creating our first prototypes by internalizing all stages, from design to cutting and assembly, entirely within our headquarters. This initiative sustains an excellent production chain while reducing environmental impact.
MADE IN ITALY
The production of our garments, from cutting to ironing and packaging, is carefully managed near our headquarters, supporting small artisan workshops with consistent work tied to our collections. This thoughtful approach not only sustains local craftsmanship but also fosters a strong connection between design and production, allowing us to maintain the highest quality standards while valuing the unique skills of our artisans.
PLISSÈ
Pleating, one of the oldest Italian manual techniques, is our trademark, blending craftsmanship heritage with innovation. Handmade by our artisans, the fabric is folded using steam, ensuring a minimal environmental impact and a locally made process. This technique highlights our dedication to preserving tradition while embracing sustainable practices. Through pleating, we create garments that carry both history and modernity in every fold.
RESPONSIBLE PRINTING PROCESSES
Integrating low-impact production and collaborating with partners focused on sustainable materials and methods is essential. A key step was improving the printing process, as patterns and colors are central to our identity. Fabric printing is entrusted to partners using certified materials and processes. Fabrics are GOTS, FSC, or GRS certified, while ZDHC-certified printing reduces chemical use and water consumption. Our printed garments are 100% responsible.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Beatrice .b is committed to sustainability through its circular economy project for pre-consumer packaging waste. Reflecting on cutting and pre-packaging waste, where 4% to 20% of fabric is discarded, Project53 transforms leftovers into high-end circular fabrics. Fabrics and textiles like shirts are regenerated into MWool® fibers and recycled into luxury materials, ensuring efficient recycling and reducing waste to "ZeroWaste."
ORGANIC FIBER
Since 1988, our signature pleat has defined our brand. As we evolve, we’ve made it our mission to make this technique more sustainable. Traditionally, pleating requires polyester: we’re committed to using 100% recycled and GRS-certified polyester. This allows us to maintain the quality of our pleats while reducing waste and CO2 emissions. Additionally, we’re incorporating eco-friendly materials like recycled cotton, further reducing our environmental impact.
